Black on Black Crackle

This small pot has been through quite a lot in its brief life.  It was hand built, sanded, burnished, and then fired to mature the clay. Then it had a clay mix slip poured all over the outside. When the slip dries, again it is pit fired in a reducing atmosphere to get all the black crackle look. Then the clay slip is slowly pulled from the surface of the pot to reveal the mystery of the faux crack lines.
